7 Proven Ways To Boost Organic Traffic To Your Blog

If you are looking for effective ways to boost organic traffic to your blog, then this guide is for you.

When it comes to increasing organic search traffic, there are many options. Likewise, there are some methods that are completely unacceptable and should be avoided at all costs.

The hardest thing you can do for your website is to build organic traffic. As a result, it is the best investment of your time and energy for your blog.

In this guide, I will show your 7 proven ways that help you to get more organic traffic.

Let’s get started!

1. Use Long-Tail Keywords

Most people are trying to rank for broad two- and three-word keywords because they have high search volumes.

But the problem is It is difficult to rank higher for these broad key phrases due to their intense competition. There is so much competition for them that you may not be able to rank unless you put months into it.

Take advantage of long-tail keyword opportunities instead of chasing after impossible goals.

For example, if you are a new blogger don’t try to rank for competitive and high search volume keywords like ‘SEO Guide’. These highly competitive keywords take more time and effort to rank, it’s hard to outrank already ranked giants.

So you should try to rank for long-tail keywords like ‘best ways to make money online and ‘best black Friday deals.’

2. Target For Featured Snippet

Featured snippets are a great way to boost organic traffic to your blog.

Featured snippets are boxes that appear at the top of search results and provide direct answers to searchers’ queries.

Targeted featured Snippet

Search engine results in the top organic position receive 34% of the clicks. The clickthrough rate of the first position drops by 8% when a featured snippet is added. As a result, a featured snippet encourages more people to click on that.

Therefore, if you want your answer to appear in the featured snippet, make sure it is clearly and directly addressed. To increase your chances of getting the featured snippet, it is also essential that you include the main keyword in the section you are optimizing for the featured snippet.

3. Build Strong Backlinks

A backlink is a link from another website to your site. The links boost the authority and trust of your website.

Organic traffic can be increased in two ways by backlinks.

The first thing that happens when someone links to your website is that you receive traffic from their website.

A review blog that links to your agency in a blog post about the best agency is bringing new traffic to your site.

Getting credible backlinks also helps boost your authority and trust, which in turn leads to higher rankings.

What are the best ways to gain more backlinks?

Create relevant, industry-related content if you want to earn backlinks. You can earn legitimate backlinks through your blog by partnering with credible websites.

Do not be afraid to contact authority figures in your industry to see if they can read your blog post.

4. Optimize Your Post

Having better content on your website can help the bots rank your pages higher because of the quality of your content. The process is relatively easy, but it can be time-consuming if you have a lot of content to edit.

The first thing you need is quality and engaging content.

You should write short paragraphs when you’re writing on the web. The viewers’ attention will be quickly lost if you present big chunks of content; they will soon click off your page. A maximum of four sentences should be used in a paragraph.

It is best to make your sentences shorter, but it is okay to include longer ones as well. Long sentences will take up the entire screen of your mobile visitor, and they won’t be able to read them.

Ensure that you have subheadings, bulleted lists, and some white space. Using these tips will ensure that your visitor doesn’t feel as if they are reading a long piece of text for too long. Adding images to your content will also keep visitors engaged in your content.

5. Try To Rank In People Also Ask

In case you don’t know what ‘People Also Ask’ is, it’s a section that shows questions that were related to the query the user entered.

Each question includes a snippet of text with a link to the article where it appears.

Rank in the People Also Ask or PAA section of Google can give your organic traffic a significant boost.

The People Also Ask section appears in 43% of results. I also look at it as well.

So, if you want to rank for a keyword and can’t get a spot on Google’s first page, you can aim for the People Also Ask box. Rankings are easier in this section and fewer brands create content for this section.

6. Use Visual Content

These days, nobody enjoys reading.

Because of this, the text has grown tedious and users prefer consuming video and audio content.

There are reports that say people mostly forget what they read but remember 80% of what they see. Based on this data, you can see how important visuals are.

There is no substitute for text. Text cannot be replaced but can be used at some other places where it can have a greater impact.

Videos, infographics, and images can be useful here. Add them to your content to make it more engaging. It will increase user engagement, encourage them to read the entire article, and increase dwell time on your website.

7. Do Guest Posting

Another way of blogging is by having guests post. Furthermore, it can be a great way for you to drive traffic (not organic, but referral).

A guest blogger is someone who writes for another website as a guest author.

If you guest blog on other websites, you reach out to their audience, which in turn gives your content more exposure. They may also recommend your brand to others if they have a good experience on your website.

Take Away

Content is king, but readers can dethrone it as well. If you take care of readers, then they will rave about your content for a long time and you will be at the top of the SERPs.

Including a keyword, 10-15 times in your blog post won’t help you rank for it.

Boosting profits, increasing sales, and climbing to the top of the SERPs requires a complete strategy.

So, start using these super effective tips and see the growth of your organic traffic.

  1. Hi Vishwajeet,
I still like to read, and for most things I would rather read about it than watch a video but I know I am probably in a small minority. That being said I do like a post that is nicely laid out with some great images or other graphics. I am really liking the infographics lately too.

  2. Hey Vishwajeet! Thanks for sharing this it was very helpful. As for infographics, I have never used them before. Are they easy to create for posts and articles? Do you have to use a graphic designer or are there free ways to do it? These are some really good suggestions

  3. Hey Vishwajeet!! As a new blogger I am finding it hard to find websites that accept guest posts. How does that work usually? Do we have to build a certain DA for our website and then reach out to write as guest posts?
The idea about including Featured snippet is great.

    • Hello Sushma,

For submitting a guest post, you don’t need to think about your Blog DA. The point here is you need to provide quality content. You can search on google for relevant blogs that accept guest posts. I suggest before approaching for a guest post, you need to build networking with bloggers.

      Regards,
      Vishwajeet Kumar
